Where this data comes from
County assessor rolls and recorder-of-deeds filings, which are public records in every US state, aggregated and standardised by our data provider.
What it will not tell you
Assessed value is a taxation figure set by the county, not a market appraisal, and in some jurisdictions it lags actual value by years. Property held through a trust, an LLC or another entity frequently does not appear against an individual's name at all, which means an absence of property records is weak evidence of anything. Recorded prices exclude undisclosed consideration and off-record transfers.
