This site is operated by Platinum Digital Enterprise Pty Ltd (ABN 57 676 841 357, ACN 676 841 357), 29/97 Creek Street, Brisbane QLD 4000, Australia, trading as National Public Records. All prices are in US dollars.
If your search finds nobody, you are refunded
Your search runs once you subscribe, against live sources. Coverage varies by state, by county and by person, so we cannot tell you in advance whether a particular individual appears in them.
If the search returns no matches at all for the name and state you gave us, email us and we will refund you in full. You paid for a search of one specific person and got nothing, and that is not a charge we will defend.
A search that finds somebody is a completed search, even if the records it returns are fewer than you expected. Every report names each category it searched, including the ones that came back empty, so you can see exactly what was covered.
Cancelling
Cancel from your dashboard at any time. Your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. We email you before every renewal.
You can cancel from your dashboard in two clicks. There is no retention flow, no phone call and no form.
Reports are delivered when you unlock them
A report is compiled and delivered the moment you unlock it, and the monthly allowance it uses is not restored. Subscription payments are for the period they cover and are not refunded on cancellation; you keep access for the rest of that period.
A report is compiled on demand from live data sources at the moment you unlock it. Once it is delivered it cannot be returned, in the same way a delivered digital file cannot be.
Your report allowance resets at the start of each billing period. Unused reports do not carry over.
When a report does not cost you anything
Your search runs once you subscribe. If it returns no matches at all for the name and state you gave us, email us and we will refund you in full. If a report fails to generate, it does not use one of your monthly reports.
If our data sources are unavailable and a report fails to compile, your monthly allowance is not touched. You can run it again when the service recovers.
A report that contains fewer records than you hoped is not a failed report. The preview told you what existed before you unlocked it, and thin results are a fact about the person, not a fault in the service.
Paid add-ons refund if the search fails
An add-on charge pays for the search itself. If the search cannot be completed, the charge is refunded in full automatically and you do not need to ask. A search that completes and returns no records for that person has still been performed, and is not refunded — your report shows those categories as searched.
Duplicate charges and billing errors
If you have been charged twice for the same billing period, or charged after cancelling, email support@nationalpublicrecords.us with the date and amount. Genuine billing errors are corrected in full.
Before you contact your bank
If something looks wrong, email us first. We answer within one business day and can usually resolve it faster than a bank can, including cancelling a subscription you no longer want.
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
